Additional General Manager (CS) Reviews the Progress of the Smart Meter Development Project
Additional General Manager (CS) Eng. (Mrs.) Kumuduni Herath on 19th July 2017 paid a visit to Research and Development Branch to review the progress of the Smart Meter Development Project. Deputy General Manager (R&D) Eng. K. G. R. F. Comester and some Chief Engineers participated in the event.
CEB, which strives to provide the best for the consumer, launched Smart Meter Development Project, in order to meet the demands of the consumer oriented society and to provide smart facilities to electricity consumers. The smart meter being developed will have facilities such as, remote reading and remote disconnection abilities. With the smart meter, electricity consumption data will be sent digitally without human interference. The smart meter will make it quite convenient for the electricity consumer to view consumption load profiles and also for CEB mainly in billing on daily basis.
CEB Engineers from various branches are working together in the Smart Meter Development Project to develop the best smart meter for the Sri Lankan electricity consumer. Additional General Manager (CS) and other officials discussed about the progress of the project and gave instructions for further proceedings.
