Integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System to be Installed in CEB

At present, different isolated ICT systems are used by CEB for its diverse functions and some of these have reached the end of planned useful life. Since there is no integration between these systems, fetching information required for management at the right time has become an issue. An integrated system would also cancel out the individual faults of the separate systems. Therefore, CEB has identified a need to establish an Integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, the latest advanced technological solution, to create an efficient ICT system in CEB.
A Committee appointed by the General Manager in April 2016, has selected the company KPMG, as the Consultant for the development of the Integrated ERP System. The Board approved the implementation of the Integrated ERP System in October 2016. CEB has signed the contract with KPMG on 17th May 2017 for the provision of the services for the Design Phase of the project of implementation of the Integrated ERP System in CEB, duration of which is one year.
A Project Management Unit headed by a Project Director has been established to manage the project at BMICH premises. Eng. Mr. Rohan Seneviratne, DGM (WPS I) has been appointed to cover up duties of the Project Director.
The opening of CEB’s ERP Project office at BMICH took place on 2017-07-04 with the participation of Vice Chairman of CEB W.A. Gamini Wanasekara, General Manager of CEB Eng. A K Samarasinghe, Additional General Manager (Corporate Strategy) Eng. (Mrs.) Kumuduni Herath, other Additional General Managers, Financial Manager and other distinguished guests. The kick-off meeting of the ERP Project was held at BMICH Committee Room with the participation of General Manager CEB, Additional General Manager (Corporate Strategy), other Additional General Managers, Project Director Eng. Mr. Rohan Seneviratne, project team and participants from various divisions of CEB.
Implementation of an Integrated ERP System is vital for CEB to face future challenges and to meet the demands of the stakeholders.
